The record and its year
Angel's Mess was released on 13 March 2026 through Drunk on Power and reached number 83 on the ARIA albums chart. It is the third album and the first made after the project reformed around Maz DeVita in November 2023.
Two changes arrive together, which is what makes it a different kind of entry. Dew Process released both albums before it, covering the entire period in which WAAX operated as a fixed five-piece. A change of label is often the clearest external marker that a project has changed shape, and here it lines up almost exactly with the change in line-up.
"Ur A Rat" and "Hands" preceded it in 2025 and "Uh Oh (Bardcore Girls)" arrived in 2026. The gap between "Read Receipts" in 2022 and "Ur A Rat" in 2025 is the longest in the discography, and it is the hiatus made visible.
The chart peak is the lowest of the three, which is worth recording plainly rather than leaving out.
