The live register, narrowed to what is sourced
The live section lists twenty-one appearances. It could list a great many more if the standard were lower, and it will grow, but every row currently in it rests on a festival schedule, a promoter or venue calendar, a tour announcement or a dated review.
That standard is why the rows are uneven. Some carry a venue and a day, such as The Triffid in Brisbane on 16 August 2019. Others carry a year and the word national, because a tour announcement proves that a tour took place without establishing which room on which night. Rather than invent the missing detail or drop the tour, the register keeps each row at the precision it actually has and lets the unevenness show.
2019 is the densest year, and there is a reason
Six of the twenty-one rows fall in 2019. SXSW in Austin and Forecastle in Louisville both appear, and around them sits a North American headline tour with dates including Permanent Records Roadhouse in Los Angeles and Soda Bar in San Diego. The same year carries an Australian tour behind the single "I Am", an east-coast run in November and December, and the dated Brisbane show in August.
It is the only North American touring in the register, and it produced a long tail of city event listings across the United States. Most of those pages have since been taken down, redirected or folded into other calendars, which is entirely ordinary for event listings: they are written to be current, not to be kept. It is also precisely the argument for a register like this one. A tour that was heavily documented at the time can become very hard to reconstruct within a few years, simply because the documentation was never meant to last.
The Australian spine
The rest of the register is centred on Australia and, within it, on Brisbane. BIGSOUND appears twice, in 2014 for the Triple J Unearthed stage and again in 2017. Splendour in the Grass at North Byron and all three Good Things Festival dates fall in 2018, alongside support runs with Fall Out Boy and with Wolf Alice, and a Labrador tour date in Adelaide.
Brisbane bookends the whole thing. The register opens with a BIGSOUND slot in the city in 2014 and reaches the farewell shows at The Triffid in June 2023 in the same city, with the 2019 Triffid date in between. The most recent row is Yours & Owls at Wollongong in 2026, which is the first festival billing since the project reformed.
What the map does and does not claim
The map beside the register is schematic. The coastline is a simplified outline and the routes are drawn as curves from Brisbane rather than as anything resembling a travel path; they exist to connect a row in the table to a place, not to describe how anyone got there. City positions are plotted from real coordinates so that the relative geography is honest, but nothing on it should be read as a route map.
North American dates are gathered behind a single off-map marker rather than plotted individually. Splitting them out would need a second projection for a handful of rows, and the register already names the cities in the table where they can be read directly.
What is missing
The obvious gap is everything between the announcements: the individual nights of the Australian tours, the support slots that were never separately listed, and the early Brisbane shows from 2012 and 2013 that predate any of the sources this register draws on. Those years are almost certainly the busiest in the band's history and are the thinnest here, which is a limitation of the method rather than a statement about the period.
